State Legislation on Safe Patient Handling
ANA works in coordination with Constituent Member (State) Associations (CMAs) to implement a Nationwide State Legislative Agenda that focuses on issues important to nurses, including the development and implementation of safe patient handling programs and policies.
Prompted by ANA's Handle with Care® Campaign which began in 2003, nine states have enacted "safe patient handling" legislation:
